About the Museum: The Interactive Museum is a children's museum located in Middletown, NY. It was the brainchild of Ed Silvers and community based volunteers. Sadly, Ed passed away before he could see the museum open but we are so pleased that his ideas of having a fun place of learning for children of all ages has now come to Middletown. The museum offers a collection of interactive exhibits in science, math, technology and the arts for a wide range of age levels and abilities. We have some exhibits that remain part of our permanent collection, while others constantly change to add new and exciting reasons for children to return to the museum. Thanks to a large core of volunteers, dedicated board and committee members, museum staff and corporate partners, new exhibits are always in progress.
We are now open Thursdays through Sunday from 11-4 and offer Sunday programs from 2-4 where professionals come in to provide interactive programs for children. These programs are designed and delivered to ensure that children leave with a new skill, a product they create or a new passion and exposure to subject matter within our mission parameters. We want the museum to be an active and safe place for children to explore, learn, create and collaborate. It is the hope of the board that more families will learn about what we have to offer for children to gain a greater audience and membership.
We would like to thank the many corporate sponsors such as The WEL Foundation, Entergy Corporation , Provident Bank and Ed Diana from the Orange County Government for their yearly continued support of the museum and our projects for the children. |
